After the “Gold Top 3” AJ1 dropped at ComplexCon in 2017, Nike decided to strike while it was gold with the Jordan 1 Retro High NRG Patent Gold Toe. Known as the “Patent Gold Toe” edition, these AJ 1s released in the same black, metallic gold, and summit white colorway as the “Gold Top 3.” However, they feature gold toecaps and tongues, as well as black pull tabs on both sneakers. The medial side of each shoe is also black/gold, while the lateral side is white, black, and gold. They were released on February 16, 2018.
